Oooops ....
Mark Tumarkin
Ooops, I screwed up. I'm not sure how I did this, but I announced the wrong style for last month's contest. We had the contest for Fruit Beer, even though it should have been German Wheats. But, hey nobody noticed or called me on it. And it's easily fixed, we'll have it this month instead. So I hope you have those weizens ready.
Just so we keep things straight, here is the style calendar for the rest of the year (reflecting the two switched months). Keep this in mind, and let me know if I screw up again. The idea being that after having the style presentation and tasting, you will be inspired to brew the style. You'll have two months, so you'll have time to brew your beer and age it a while before the style contest. So last month (at the June meeting) was the Brown Ale presentation, the contest will be at the August meeting, make sense? Also, the November contest for Winter Warmers will be the last one that counts for the 1999 Brewer of the Year points, so we can present the award at the December meeting/party. The December contest for Stouts will be the first one for the year 2000 points (maybe that should be the Brewer of the Millenium?).
