April Monthly Meeting Minutes
By Mark Tumarkin
The April meeting was held at Pete Turner's house. Dinner was great (as usual) but there was some confusion about starting times. The following is standard procedure for all Hogtown monthly meetings. We start dinner at 6:30, with the meeting to begin at 7:30. Dinners have been great; if you haven't been coming you should really give it a try. We've been regularly treated to gourmet fare.
The May meeting will be held at Dave & Julie Williams' home in Newberry. The June meeting was to have been held at Matt Rippetoe's, but due to his unfortunate electrical fire, it will be held in the new side of Market St. Pub. It's even rumored that Ed and Bob will attend.
After a brief business meeting (the main topics were the Hogtown Navy canoe trip and the Big Brew to be held at Dr. Bob's lab), Pete Turner gave the tasting/presentation on English bitters and pales. He brought back most of the tasting examples from a recent trip to England. Many of these are not available in this country. Richard P will give the May presentation on German Wheats. In April, we'll have a presentation on IPA and Am Pales from Craig.
