March 2002 executive committee minutes
By Mark Tumarkin

The March Exec Committee meeting was held on Anne & Mark's new porch on Sunday afternoon, March 10th. Only a small number of participants showed up, thus they were forced make a supreme effort in drinking the large number of awesome beers that were present. Despite this, a large number of topics were addressed. Among them were:

BrewFoods Competition - an Indiana homebrew club has invited us to participate in their upcoming BrewFoods Competition. The best recipes for beer food will be compiled in a cookbook.

A maximum amount of $50 per style presentations has been set as a guideline. If necessary this amount can be raised by seeking permission in advance.

Tech Presentations - it was suggested to do these presentations as events separate from the monthly meetings.

We discussed Tampa as a possible destination for RT/PC 2002. Some people thought that Atlanta was too far and possibly too expensive to get a good turnout.

Mark was tasked with inviting Pro-Brewers to participate in future meetings. Buzz Brown, Wayne Wambles, Ron Reike, Jamie of Titanic and Mike Bryant were mentioned as possibilities.

The club will send Wayne's winning Porter to the AHA Club-only competition.

It was decided to set aside enough money to cover up-front expenses for the Medieval Faire for the next two years. And also to make the current club treasury last for at least two years.

Dr. Bob is going to check his calendar with regard to hosting Big Brew in his lab.

We are going to explore the possibility of having a Hogtown Preferred Vendor (for beer purchases and ordering). We will seek to set up a favored relationship with one of the local retail establishments, probably Everyday Gourmet. In exchange for club discounts, special order options, etc we would then encourage our members to favor the establishment for all or most of our purchases.

We will add a page to our web site with pictures and pricing on the available club merchandise (glassware, t-shirts).
