Appeasing SWMBO
Mark Tumarkin
I don't drink soft drinks myself (unless you count the occasional tonic water used as a mixer in a gin & tonic), but thought that some of you might find the following post from the HBD interesting. By the way, SWMBO is She Who Must Be Obeyedˇ.
Note: I'd suggest trying the 5 gal recipe, that is unless you have a brewpot that will hold 1200 gallons plus. Also, I've been told that it's almost impossible to get root beer flavors out of the rubber seals in kegs. This probably isn't quite as true of colaˇ look at all the recycled corny kegs out there, though I always replace the seals on my kegs when I get them just as a precaution, they're certainly cheap enough.

This is the original recipe for Pepsi. A downsized version follows. Rounding off will give a unique flavor so it won't be exactly pepsi.. Notice the lack of caffiene in this early recipe. I'm sure you could add it if you had the mind. There are recipes for Coca Cola but Coke was never brought to bankruptcy court. The Coke recipes are sketchy and authenticity is sketchy. @@@@@ Now You're Cooking!
