Everyday Gourmet VIP
by Mark Tumarkin
A while back, Robert Riley had told me that he had been buying beer at Everyday Gourmet (not surprising since it's right around the corner from his apartment). He had asked them to carry Anchor's Liberty Ale and they have been doing it. I've been meaning to go by there for a while and finally made it about a week ago. Unfortunately, they were out of Liberty when I went in.
I talked to a gentleman named Bill Kloeppel, their wine buyer. He was very helpful. He ordered the Liberty and gave me a call later that week when it arrived. He also told me that they would order by the case even if it were a beer they don't generally carry. He got me a list of the products carried by Southern Wine & Spirits, and will get similar lists for their other distributors.
In addition, he gave me a VIP card that gets you 10% off on anything not on sale. This doesn't include case prices, (which he tells me are already very competitive) but does include single bottles or six-packs. He has offered this VIP card to any Hogtown Brewer. They seem like nice folks and certainly seem to believe in customer service.
Everyday Gourmet is located at 17 NW 17th Street. Stop by and check them out. Be sure to tell them you're with the homebrew club and get your VIP card.
