Oatmeal Stout Walnut Pie

Here is the recipe for the oatmeal stout walnut pie from the last meeting.
10-inch pie crust,unbaked
5 eggs
1 1/3c.dark corn syrup
1 1/3c.sugar
1tsp. vanilla extract
3TBS butter melted
1/2c. stout
3c. walnut pieces
Beat eggs thoroughly. Add corn syrup, surgar, van,
butter, and stout. Mix until well blended.
Fold in nuts and pour into crust.
bake at 350 until set 45-55min.

Oatmeal stout
1/2 and 1/2=1qt.
oatmeal stout=1/2 cup
dark corn syrup=1/4c.
surgar=1/2c.
egg yolks=1
vanilla bean seeded=1
1)Heat 2cups 1/2&1/2 in sause pan with bean to boil
and simmer for 2min.
2)In seperate pot reduce stout by 1/2 and add syrup
3)In small mix bowl combine sugar,and egg yolk and mix
well
4)Temper 1/2&1/2 into egg mixture, when all the cream
mixture in incorporated into eggs, remove the vanilla
bean husk.
5)Allow mixture to cool completely. stir in stout
reduction syrup mixture and freeze in ice cream
machine.
Note: If you want more of a stout taste, use a full
cup and reduce to 1/2 cup. Also substitute 1cup of
cream for 1cup of 1/2&1/2 or else you will get more of
an icemilk product.
