Competition Corner

It would be great to see Hogtown Brewers entering in more competitions. Hopefully, these calendars will help get you interested and give you the information necessary to schedule your brewing so that your beers will be in their best condition at the right time for your selected competitions. If you are planning to enter a competition, please let us know . Then if several people are entering the same competition, we can package and ship together to lower the cost.

Starting out is a link to the BJCP for the style guidelines, entry forms, etc. Following that are some links to Competition Calendars on the Web. Check these out to find information on upcoming Homebrew Competitions. There is also info on the AHA Club-Only Competition schedule and our own Hogtown Brewers monthly competitions (which are timed to allow our winning brewers to ship their brews to the corresponding AHA Club-Only competitions). Check out the website for the MCAB (Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing, probably the most prestigious of all homebrew competitions, despite the fact that it is a very new program. Then I have given contact info for some selected competitions; mostly regional or some larger national competitions, that have caught my eye.
