Joining the Club
How, why, and what it costs

About the
Hogtown Brewers

"Do not cease to drink beer, to eat,
to intoxicate thyself,
to make love, and celebrate the good days."

Ancient Egyptian proverb

Despite the fact that you probably wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have you for a member, we'd love to have you join us, really. We typically meet the second Saturday of each month and would certainly like to invite you to the next meeting. Dues are $20 per year for an individual brewer, and $30 for family membership.

Some of the benefits of membership are:

  • The opportunity to compete in our In-Club competitions for Homebrewer of the Year
  • Style presentations and tastings to help you learn more about the varied types of beer
  • Feedback on your brewing from other club members, including BJCP judges
  • Presentations of brewing techniques and other technical subject
  • Study group for preparing for the BJCP exam
  • Your first brewer's pint free at Market Street Pub on Saturday nights (this is a well kept secret, so don't tell anyone)
  • The opportunity to participate in varied club events such as Road Trip/Pub Crawls, canoe trips, great parties, camping trips, boil parties and other brewing events, etc
  • Club Yeast Bank
  • The privilege of buying club T-shirts, mugs, coasters, and other fine club-logo items (well, you can buy these without being a club member; but it'll cost you more)
  • Use of the club library and brewing equipment
  • Participation in group buys of brewing supplies and equipment
  • And many other benefits geared towards increasing your knowledge and appreciation of the many wonderful beer styles and improving brewing techniques, as well as enjoying the company of a great group of brewers

If you are interested in joining our club please fill out and submit our New Member Application form. If you would like to learn more about us or would like to join us for our next meeting, send us an e-mail and we will answer any questions you may have.
